Roundabout Challenge

This challenge is all about sewing curves, but don’t worry if curves are not yet in your toolbox. We’ll be sharing tips and tricks along the way. The Challenge rules are simple: incorporate some curves, use at least three solid colors, and make sure the sides of your quilt measure between 24 and 80 inches. We’ll reveal our quilts at the July 2nd general meeting.

Adding Words to our Quilts

IEMQG member, Patti Reyes, showed us three easy ways to add words to our quilts and she inspired us to experiment with the tools and techniques she introduced. She showed us how to super-size our printer fonts and then securely print them directly onto fabric. She also showed us how to trace super-sized fonts onto our fabric for embroidery and how to improve our handwriting on quilt labels, by tracing fonts. Visit the Tutorials page on this website to download her complete tutorial, “Three Easy Ways to Add Words to Quilts”.

The words in this quilt were printed directly onto the fabric.
